Director
Psychosocial Recovery Coach

Hi, I'm Kem! I created The Wise Mind Co. out of pure passion for mental health and ensuring that participants are receiving high quality support. My focus is to deliver a service that is person-centred by utilising a recovery focused and strength-based approach to empower participants to achieve their goals and live their best lives.

I completed a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) in 2013 at the University of the Sunshine Coast. I have been working in the Community Services sector since 2015, building my skills in many areas around Mental Health and Disability. Additionally, while working in the sector, I have also completed numerous professional development trainings to further develop my practice.

My experience in Community Services started as a case manager in residential and outreach Mental Health programs. Where my passion grew for working with individuals experiencing complex mental health presentations. This has given me a  broad experience working with clients living with chronic mental health challenges such as (but not limited to) Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Anxiety, Depression, and Bi-polar disorder. Furthermore, I have worked with clients with dual diagnosis.

A few years later, I moved to a leadership role managing Mental Health, Disability, Supported Independent Living and NDIS programs. Further strengthening my knowledge and skills in the NDIS, Disability and Mental health fields.

Additionally, I am a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) specialist and have

worked with individuals to build a life worth living by using mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness skills. I have facilitated DBT group sessions since 2019 and experienced in 1:1 DBT skill building therapy sessions.
