FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a Psychosocial Disability?

Psychosocial disability is a term used to describe a disability that may arise from mental health challenges. Not everyone who has a mental health condition will have a psychosocial disability, but for people who do, it can be severe, longstanding and impact on their recovery.

What is a recovery framework?

A recovery based approach focuses on the individual as the expert of their own lives. A mental health worker who support individuals using a recovery base approach, walks along side the participant, holding hope, and approaches support in a holistic way. As personal recovery is different for each individual, our services are individually tailored, person centred and responsive to participants' ever changing need and goals.

How do we send a referral?

Please get in touch via our contact page and send an inquiry form. Ensure that you provide as much detail as possible as to what services you are looking for. Alternatively, if you have a Support Coordinator they may inquire on your behalf. A referral / intake form will be emailed to you or your support coordinator to complete.

Can we meet before committing to a service?

Yes, absolutely! I think it is really important that you choose a worker that you 'vibe' with and truly have a great genuine connection, as this is a foundation of a great working relationship. I would love to meet you to discuss what you are looking for in a worker and if The Wise Mind Co. ethos and practice framework suits your needs.
